AGRICULTURAL TRAINING
Resident participants are supported by the presence and example of the members of Global Community Communications Alliance. Service in EcoVillage living and learning enters every part of daily life and guides the policies and practices of the community and its members. Working with the earth is a healing principle of the program.
SPIRITUAL TRAINING
A recognition of the Fatherhood of God and the brother-/sisterhood of humankind provides the spiritual commonality and strength to underscore the effectiveness of the program. Global Community Communications Alliance aspires to develop people who are prepared to meet the challenges and responsibilities of a God-directed life.
Why Is It Called “Personality Integration Rehabilitation”?
Each of our personalities manifests in diverse perceptions and attitudes, formed, in part, from meaningful contact with our family, friends, and environmental influences. These perceptions and attitudes likewise motivate our responses. This program aims to adjust, balance, and transform (rehabilitate) a person’s patterns of responses into a loving, connected, unified personality. Such a personality follows a pattern of righteous living and gains a sense of belonging in service to his/her brothers and sisters—a fulfilling way to contribute to the whole of humankind.
What Can Be Gained From This Integration Program?
The program focuses on self-realization and change. To achieve this end, each person receives regular counseling and special individualized attention for their integration into a service-oriented lifestyle.
Each individual’s program is designed to create an environment to build respect, learn inner discipline, and adapt his/her behavior to live responsibly. A system of positive feedback assists the participant to make choices more selflessly and in turn develop their character and personality.
By sharing their time and talents unselfishly in service work for their brothers and sisters, participants begin a path to develop a virtuous life. Each participant is assigned a full day of service activities with some evening classes or creative activities. The joy of giving is rewarded by the responses of those whom they serve. Experiencing helping another person provides the participant with a personal sense of goodness and a vision of the global family of humankind.
What is Daily Life Like For Resident Participants?
Experienced teachers are role models who assist the participants in gaining control over their inner selves and letting go of old patterns of behavior as they embark on self-mastery. In contrast to seeing themselves in a stereotyped and hyped image, the opportunity is given to learn from an elder or from their inner source of truth. Great satisfaction comes from striving for noble goals without competition or basing their self-worth on material “success.”
The Integration Program offers its resident participants a structured environment, built upon a schedule of shared daily activities in an EcoVillage living environment with regular prayer and community worship. All of the services provided to the participants are designed to encourage a more responsible, virtuous life and include: psycho-social assessment, counseling, life-skills training, educational tutoring or classes in an on-site private school, vocational training apprenticeships, and artistic, musical, theatrical, and dance activities. Participants do not use or possess intoxicating substances or tobacco products during the length of enrollment in the program.
Within the community home where the resident participant resides, a household coordinator and religious order members provide coordinated sources of support and companionship. The participant’s daily interactions and individually-designed program foster a sense of usefulness and a growing recognition of and personal relationship with God.
During the time of participation in the Integration Program, participants must adhere to its guidelines and practices, as each is considered to be essential to the development of skills necessary for a successful, creative life. Here the participants are able to use their talents to the fullest and are provided with tools and instruments needed to fulfill their individual destinies.
